Reasons To Give

There are at least 500,000 reasons to support the Kinark Foundation. That's the number of children in Ontario currently experiencing mental health problems. Canada-wide, that number increases to 1.2 million.

Sea of facesFor the one in five children and youth with social, emotional or behavioural problems, every day poses challenges. Just getting up in the morning can be hard for a child experiencing depression or anxiety. Facing bullying, difficulty concentrating in school, conflict with family members, feeling alone... these issues are very real and very painful. Early intervention is critical as untreated mental health issues often become more severe.

Stigma is often another huge barrier to getting help. The discrimination and intolerance many families experience when talking about their child's social, emotional or behavioural problems often prevents them from seeking the help they so desperately need. No child deserves to suffer in silence. No family should struggle alone. There are prevention, early intervention and treatment programs that can help. The Kinark Foundation partners with leading-edge organizations like Kinark Child and Family Services and others to support the most effective, responsive programs available to help children and youth in Ontario who are struggling with mental health problems.

That's why the question to ask yourself shouldn't be: "Why should I give?" It should be: "How can I not?"
