The Kinark Foundation is a public foundation dedicated to promoting the social and emotional well-being of children and youth by raising funds and creating awareness in support of Kinark Child and Family Services and other organizations focusing on children's mental health. As the leading charitable foundation dedicated to supporting children's mental health initiatives in Ontario, we improve the future for vulnerable children and youth and their families.

In his report on mental health and addictions in Canada (Out of the Shadows at Last), former Senator Michael Kirby referred to mental health as "the orphan" of Canada's health care system and children's mental health as "the orphan of the orphan". While effective prevention and treatment programs exist, there are inadequate services available to meet the current need. Also problematic is the stigma associated with mental health problems that often gets in the way of families seeking the help they need.

The Kinark Foundation plays a critical role. By shining a light on the issues and generating financial support for initiatives that have been proven to help children and youth and their families, the Kinark Foundation serves as a catalyst for collective action in support of children's mental health and well-being.
